Derbi x-race UK

Ongelezen bericht door Creamsodauk »

hello!

Im kris I'm from the UK and i have come to your forum as there is very little interest over here on the web too do with these bikes!

My current bikes are:
Honda msx 125 for work
Gilera runner 172cc (currently in a million bits)
Derbi senda xrace 2009 ( purchased damaged with bent ford for £250)

Anyway on to my Derbi!

This is how i got it! bent forks, damaged bars, damaged radiator and more

AfbeeldingAfbeelding

I then fitted a brand new Pedmoto sg-1 exhaust system as i love the sound of a raspy 2 stroke!!

Acrebis Tail tidy and smaller number plate, also fitted new downhill red handle bars, rental grips and some 25mm bar risers

Painted my rear wheel half and half! currently still painting the front in the same colours, also fitted new wheel bearings, new break pads and cleaned the rear disc

Hello Kris,

Welcome on the forum ;) ,i'm sure most of us can answer your questions. Nice looking derbi already, is that a ''famous'' exhaust in the UK or ? i've never heard of that brand before . I hope you're going the replace the front forks because that doesn't look very safe to me

Best regards,

Haven't seen anyone from the UK here for quite a while.
Your derbi looks nice! Lucky that the accident that made your fork look like this didn't damage your frame.

Welcome to the forum. I heard those powerfilters are not as good as foam ones, these will suck in too much sand and other stuff you don't want in your carburator. Also never heard of this exhaust brand neither.

Regarding the pre-mix. If it's the same kind of pre-mix as they have in the Netherlands i wouldn't recommend it. It's better to mix it yourself. I (and most other people i know) use Castrol Power1 Racing for 2 stroke.

hello! i have to say how impressed i am! so many elnglish speakers/typers fantastic news for me

where do i start, the forks where first on my to do list. however i won some on ebay and then spent a month fighting for a refund as they never arrived. So i need a big favour. My forks are the type with the thicker part at the bottom. they also have the wheel spindle run through the bottom of the forks.

now as hard as i try i can't find any that match. i can find some like mine from other seri sends but they have the wheel spindle ahead of the forks. Will these still fit my bike?

also if i buy upside down forks do i simply change the yokes too and then fit as normal? no one in the uk seems to know :?

when i purchased the air filter i thought it was a foam type with a plastic cap, i was mistaken and il end up buying a larger foam style one like i run on my 172cc

The exhaust is made in the UK

its not the most famous by any means its just a good price and the limited information on debris meant i didn't want to buy a technigas exhaust incase it performed badly. in the uk on gilera runners and other mopeds the technigas pipes are considered very poor quality and power.

the pedmoto exhaust claims to reach 10hp on the standard 50cc barrel with marker jets to suit.

When i say premix i mean i am mixing the fuel and 2 stroke myself in the tank and i have blocked off the oil tubes for now :D

Whilst I'm also asking questions, it seems you guys prefer the 70cc kits? they aren't easy to get over here and many shops are sold out. are there any topics or reviews on big bore kits? as i quiet like the look of the polini 80cc cast iron kit

thanks for the welcome guys!! :box:

welcome to the forum, nice to see people from different countries taking interest in this aswell.

On the parts side, are u able to import parts from other countries (i have no idea what the cost would be) But seeing as Holland is a moped loving country especially in derbi's. You can get second hand parts here relatively cheap. And, even though im not a derbi expert, there are alot of people here that can help you filter the second hand websites here and help you seek out the parts you need.

I see the L plate which means you are allowed the ride up to 125cc right? In that case I would definitely upgrade to a bit more cc's, it will give you alot more torque, however you can ofcoarse also start at 50cc and upgrade later if the 50cc isn't fast enough for you. And again, maybe you can work together with some guys here and have the parts imported to the UK since Cilinder kits are very easy to get here. 70cc kits range from like 140 euro for a cheap one to 280 euro for a really nice one. (newprice that is) I'm running an airsal 70cc kit on my rieju which I like alot even though some people seem to hate airsal.

prices of sending stuff to the UK:
2kg or less: 13 euro 10.53 gbp
2kg - 5kg: 19.50 euro 15.79 gbp
5kg-10kg: 25 euro 20.25 gbp
10kg-20kg: 34 euro 27.54 gbp
20kg-30kg: 43.15 euro 34.95 gbp

Hello kris ! welcome to this forum !

for data about 70 / 80 cc kits you can take a look at this topic: http://derbi-forum.nl/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=15
"Nieuw type blok" or "NT Blok" means that this cilinder is for a engine from a derbi with a construction year above 2005. you have on your derbi a "Nieuw type blok". "oud type blok" or "OT blok" means that the cilinder is build for a engine with a construction year below / under 2005.

Good luck with your Derbi !

nice bike :D

glad to see someone from the UK, i tought there weren't any derbi's driving around there. you've got a NT (new type) engine, so if you are buying a cylinder make sure it is for a derbi that is made after 2006

cheers

cheers guys! yes i have the newer engine. i can get airsal kits etc over here so i shall look into them on the link you posted.

As for cc yes i will be upping the power and size so il look into the kits!

Can anyone help with the forks issue?

As you can see from the pictures my wheel spindle goes through the bottom of the forks, however all the sets on ebay have the spindle slightly further up on the forks and infornt. if i buy a set like this will my break calliper etc fit straight on? if so i can order a set straight away!

the UK scene is dead! there is one derbi website/forum which looks unused and other then that no one has them which is odd as its a fantastic bike to have at 16 and so nice to work on for tuning :woot:

im not sure if you can just put your old caliper on different forks, but if it doesn't fit it shouldn't be that hard to make a bracket to make it fit the new forks.

I dont know how much knowledge you have about this stuff, but just a reminder, if you do get a bigger cilinder you have to pay attention to all the other stuff aswell carb-exhaust-intake (crankshaft depending on the cilinder) and you can change the membrane aswell if you want too but thats not really necessary

You might know that stuff already, or you might not, so i thought i'd say it anyway.

cant u measure up the mounting holes for the caliper on your current forks in comparison to the axle and then compare that to the replacement forks? Not sure wether this can work or not, just a suggestion

lol i read membrane and as i work for a gardening store i thought of weed control material that you put on the ground to stop weeds growing up!!

i know all about this to an extent, its just getting info on this model. i have fitted a 172cc kit to my gilera runner 125cc 2 stroke larger carbs and so forth. but over in the uk these are very common so all the information is readily available

heres a pic of my 172 engine with many mods, this was taken tonight having mocked it up to see how it looked  !!

AfbeeldingAfbeeldingAfbeelding

the forks I'm looking at are from derbi sendas etc, all on ebay so i can't measure them only my own. i will have to do some more homework as I'm sure they will fit, its just wether il need a new wheel spindle and brake calliper

yep there enough of the forks you're looking for, for sale here. And I have no doubt that people here will have no problem with helping you with translations when buying stuff here and sending it to the uk.

You can probably even use someone here as a middle man to go to the seller and inspect the forks first before sending them to the uk.

A few little pics. Picked up an assortment of Allen head bolts and washers so decided to bolt the battery compartment in finally, fitted the rear lights panel and side panels and the tank/seat. Also fitted and wired up the rear indicators with home made mounts and spacers to give it a clean sleek look 8-)

Still no luck finding a set of forks 8-((

Nice derbi!

i'm curious, is the paint ontop of your frame still intact? near the fuel tank.
If it isnt is is most likely damaged by the accident
